‘Conspiracy’ was GROSS and OFFENSIVE. It was so cheesy, I don’t even know if I want to watch it again. I suppose the overall plot wasn’t the absolute worst, and ‘Shades of Grey/Gray’ sounds worse in some ways, but at least that ep won’t make me sick when I eventually might see it.

The former had cheesy special effects, I thought…EVEN for the time period! I feel like a FIVE-year-old wrote the story when it came to the gross-out factor scenes >:| I don’t get grossed out that easily, but I feel that ST is NOT supposed to have eps like this…Nightmare on Elm Street, indeed…THAT’S where this kind of ep and story belong…

‘Skin of Evil’ pissed me off, too. I didn’t realize that the actress had decided to leave the show. It’s almost like Yar’s death scene was punishment for her choice I would joke and say maybe she watched ‘Conspiracy’ and that made her think the show was doomed, LOL, but it aired ALMOST right after her death ep, so maybe she got a hold of the script, behind the scenes, and decided to get out, while possible

I thought ‘Hide and Q’ had annoying special effects, and I’m NOT picky about the SE, usually!

Wait, you have (outside the questionable FX which weren’t half bad for the time) pretty solid “Conspiracy,” but not the irredeemably offensive “Angel One,” and the heinous “Code of Honour” doesn’t even make the Dishonourable Mentions? I realise this is a personal list, but still…

Anyway, outside of the above concessions, I can’t disagree with the others on the list. Some of these were absolutely atrocious. I have something of a soft spot for “Sub Rosa” since it was a “Scottish” episode (well, the idea of there being a Planet Scotland appealed to me at least), but it wasn’t great either. A shame, because McFadden really gave it her best shot: her work deserved to be highlighted in a better story.

That one gets a pass from me mainly because of the child actor who plays Picard. The ‘He’s my number one dad!’ scene cracks me up every time.

Oh yeah, another honorable mention should have been the episode where Picard, Guinan, Ro, and Keiko are turned into children and the Ferengi too easily take-over the Enterprise.

The warp speed limitation is also present in the design of the USS Voyager. Not sure if it was ever mentioned on the show but I read that the the warp nacelles retract to limit the damage to subspace.

“Masks” almost made the cut. I think I have more of a tolerance for Brent Spiner hamming it up than most people.

SUB ROSA is totally dumb, but it’s not that bad of an episode narratively. It’s surprisingly watchable despite the elements that make it obviously… well, repulsive. Also, admit that when you first watched CONSPIRACY (when it originally aired) it was kind of thrilling and fun. Honestly though, I thought it was a cliffhanger until the next season started so it kinda worked.

I can’t believe you didn’t include MASKS. That episode makes me angry.

I completely agree about Aub Rosa it was just… wrong and disturbing, and like the Royale it was barely space related!
